Noblesville

Hello, all! It has been quite a while since I last posted; I am so very sorry! Life has gotten very busy in these last very months (I will be posting more often from now on! Yay!)

Today, I wanted to take the time to share with you all a little "vacation" that me and my mom took a few weeks back, so excape the crazyness of life, even for a few hours...

Mom and I simply got into our car and drove. Soon, we found ourselves venturing into a town called Noblesville. It was a grand idea of my mom's. I had been to Noblesville before, but this time, I realized so many things that I had not before! I had simply never taken in the scope of all the old buildings, tiny shops, and small diners. I had not appreciated all the beauty around me in such a wonderful place.

Despite the cold temperatures, mom and I toodled around in quaint shops, stopped to take a few pictures, and admired the character in the architecture surrounding us. There is something about being in old towns and spaces that always makes me feel at home, no matter which old town I am in. Noblesville has several antique shops, including an exquisite anique mall. I fell in love with a great lot of things at the mall in particular, and this was where we stopped first. Among my favorite finds were old books, records, stationary, postcards, opera glasses, keys, buttons, dresses, and of course vintage cameras. There was also a stunning vintage bike that grabbed my eye. I wanted to buy it all.

Another view (:

A little tea-set that caught my eye.

Old, vintage books. I never tire of them.

Sorting through records.

Postcards. Some were used, others were blank.
Reading the used ones was quite interesting (:

The bike!

After visiting the antique mall, mom showed me one of her most adored shops in Noblesville: The Corner Cottage! Inside, everything was so colorful, light, happy, and unique. I found a typewriter there, and it is definitely on my list of things to buy. I love the idea of typing short poems, sayings, quotes, or letters to penpals and friends. The click-clack of the keys is a purely magical sound, is it not?! I was also amazed by Corner Cottage's collection of handmade goods: purses, jewelry, art, crafts, decorations... Each was so lovely! Everything in this store was set up just so, and actually made me feel like I was living in the 1940's or 50's for a brief moment. That type of atmosphere is irreplaceable, especially in a store.

Buildings with personality.

We stopped for a sip at this coffee shop.

Noblesville has an art gallery, which intrigued me,
but it was closed. I'll save that adventure for another day (:

Mom managed to snap a few shots of me during our little excursion. I am teaching her a bit of photography skills. I think she did a wonderfl job! Once the weather is warmer, I certainly plan to come back with friends for photoshoots, gatherings, and shopping dates. I honestly don't know how someone could not fall in love with this town like I have!

Mom and I came back home feeling lighthearted, excited, and best of all INSPIRED. Sometimes I lose sight of inspiration, so this get away was just the thing I needed. I can promise that there will be many more visits to sweet Noblesville in the future.

Until warmer weather, Noblesville!
